AND
Colombian school

What was your class’s process for the kindness project?

From the classroom, inviting students to share their proposals and daily experiences with students from other countries through ICT, in this way we talked about PRINCETON MN
What are some of your students’ accomplishments?

Recognize that we are the same all over the world and
that they are treated the same way.
Do you have any highlights (stories, quotes, etc) from the fellowship?

We have made students recognize the property with values globally

Reflection questions

Describe the student experience
What did your students learn from this experience?

  • Especially interpersonal relationships without discrimination.

What skills did they develop?

  • Respect each other, learn to global values, value everyone's lives.
How has this experience helped your students be more empathetic (by understanding and sharing others’ feelings and circumstances, and taking action to help them based on this understanding) rather than simply showing pity/sympathy for others?

  • Being supportive, helped others from their difference and beliefs. Solidarity and their sacred, "getting into each other's shoes"

Describe the partner class experience

Describe the relationship between your class and your partner class - how did this partnership shape your students’ experiences and kindness project?

  • Really activities through EMPATICO, looking for a teacher in another country according to our own interests and desires to share our kind activities and allow another school to enter ours. Very exciting every meeting, more interesting our school philosophy.
Do you have a message for your partner classroom’s students? Share it!

  • Learn and practice fundamental life skills, such as, accepting the views of others, critical thinking, cooperation and communication, sharing our weblog.

Describe the partner teacher experience

  • Great and wonderful. A creative way to exchange our school experiences, the best the sensations of the students for the meetings. For students and desires to meet and share despite technological failures. Erin Franson is a teacher engaged and committed to her role as a teacher. Inspire other teachers.

Describe the relationship between you and your partner teacher. How did this affect your experience?

  • The emotional, professional and very responsible relationship to achieve the meetings without losing the meeting. Committed to the work taken, especially without disappointing our students, the teacher

What is something that you learned from your partner teacher, or something that you value about your partnership?

  • Present at all times, attended all the needs and ready to solve doubts, we were not alone. Creative and innovative, purposeful.

Overall experience

How has this experience influenced the way that you and your students are engaging with the world in this moment?

  • Students learn each other, recognize the importance of communicating with others, recognize that distance, language and customs are not barriers to exchanging ideas.
Are you planning to keep students engaged with the kindness project and/or the relationship with their partner class during this time?
  • In this time we have managed to channel efforts through websites, we have shared our productions to the boys and girls who are in their homes because of the pandemic, this is the same with the PRINCETON MN school
How do you plan to carry this work forward beyond this fellowship? What are some ideas for future extensions, e.g. involving your community?
  • We have taken our experience by collecting educational resources on the blog, we have shared it to families to study it at home with the girls. We have shared the http://blogbethlemitasmedellin.blogspot.com blog with the PRINCETON MN school through the EMPATIC platform
Many thanks Erin
